Fever and inflammation are nonspecific immune system reactions. The appendix is the most part of immune system. It stores the sample of good bacteria to replenish gut ill.

It also trains and regulates immune system to recognize other parts of the immune system. For example, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, and lymph nodes.

The immune response is part of body's defense against pathogens in where cells of immune system react to each other.
