    Endodermis

    Explanation:

The roots in the plant absorb the water and nutrients from the soil by the process of osmosis. The water and nutrients flow with the water through the apoplast and symplast way.

Before the entry of the water into the vascular bundles, few nutrients and other molecules are filtered by the selective diffusion mechanism of a layer of cells called the endodermis.

The endodermal cells possess the suberin deposition around the cell wall which permeates only symplast mode of transport and thus the selective passage of molecules.

    Thus, Endodermis is correct.
