It is because Madagascar has a huge biodiversity that is found only there. The biodiversity of Madagascar shows characteristics that confirm the fact the island has been isolated for about 88 million years. Specific and endemic plants and animals on the island evolved in relative isolation (plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth).

Madagascar is endangered by human activity such as deforestation, habitat destruction and hunting.
