    I don't see how A would be right so cross that out. B is wrong as well because the input of it is carbon dioxide (not oxygen) and oxygen is the output of it (not carbon dioxide) We humans breath air because the trees gives us air (which is oxygen) and we give them the carbon dioxide. C is wrong as well because carbon dioxide is not the source of energy. Sunlight is! So the only answer I can see right is D because yes, sunlight is the source of energy and plant sugars are the outputs.

    Answer: D) sunlight is the source of energy; plant sugars are the chemical energy produced
