Sterile sites are blood, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), pleural fluid, peritoneal fluid, pericardial fluid, bone, joint fluid.
Non Sterile sites are skin, throat, Face, etc.
Explanation:
Sterile sites
It can be stated as the sites which don't contain any bacteria. if any bacteria found then it is significant. Some of the other sterile sites are chest fluid, bone marrow, abdominal fluid, synovial fluid. Microbial tests are conducted to check whether the sterile sites are affected by bacteria or not.
Non Sterile sites
These are the sites open to the environment and they contain bacteria. In Non Sterile sites also some of the microbial diagnostics will be done.
