    Bone consists of four types of cells : osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes, and osteoprogenitor

    osteoblasts - a cell that secretes the matrix for bone formation.

    osteoclasts - a large multinucleate bone cell that absorbs bone tissue during growth and healing.

    osteocytes - a bone cell, formed when an osteoblast becomes embedded in the matrix it has secreted.

    osteoprogenitor - that are l ocated in the inner cellular layer of the periosteum, the endosteum and lining osteonic canals.
