A patient taking warfarin (coumadin) asks for an aspirin for a headache. what is the nurse's best action?

    Knowing that Aspirin is not a good choice to treat a headache in a patient currently taking Warfarin, the nurse should suggest Tylenol and administer if it had been ordered by the physician, or consult the physician for a better option. The reason for this is that both warfarin and aspirin are blood thinners and taking these medications at the same time could be dangerous.
