The normal cervical dilatation rate in a first-time mother is 1.5 cm per hour. Dilation in a "multip' is about 1.5 cm per hour. Cervical dilation is the opening of the cervix, the entrance to the uterus, during childbirth, miscarriage, induced abortion, or gynecological surgery, it may also occur naturally, or may be induced by surgical or medical means.
