An abiotic component is made out of non living biotic components, and since paper is made out of trees - it is abiotic

Paper would be considered abiotic.
Abiotic factors are non-living physical and chemical elements in the ecosystem. Examples include: water, soil, air, and sunlight.
Biotic factors are living or once-living organisms within the ecosystem.
Examples include: plants, fungi, and animals.
