Hormones are chemicals that regulate the level of water in blood and other body fluid. They are produced in glands and release into blood and reach to the target organ to perform the function.

In human body regulation of water is controlled negative feed mechanism. Low water level in the blood is detected by hypothalamus, which sends signal to pituitary gland to release ADH. This travels in the blood towards kidney and effects tubules in nephron to absorb more water. As a result urine volume become less. When blood water level is normal the hypothalamus sends signal to pituitary to stop the release of ADH.
