Tundra is the coldest biome on earth. Tundra got it's name by word "tunturia" which means treeless plains. Tundra biome is characterized by extremely low temperatures, dead organic matter in the nutrient pool and low light intensities. Trees in the tundra biomes are adapted to sweeping winds and nutrient deficiency of soil. These trees are short to resist cold temperatures and falling snow.

Abiotic factors like temperature is extremely cold, the upper layer of the soil get freezed - permafrozed. Biotic factors like animals go for hybernation because they cannot sustain in cold temperatures.
