    Explanation:

    All that really needs to be done is the process of elimination. We know it's not A. because decomposers are bacteria, fungi, insects, etc. If an organism is completely consumed by decomposers, there would be nothing left to even be in the formation of a fossil.

    As for B, C and D, they all explain the process of the formation of a fossil.
