    There is no other way in this case that could keep the object in static equilibrium.

    Explanation:

    When the object it at rest, then as per newton's law it is at inertia of rest. At 5 seconds someone comes over and pushes the object forward with a force of 10 N. So there is application of force within time span of 5 seconds, as a result object will continue to move with increasing velocity. Only an equal and opposite force is required to be applied within same time span to keep the object in static equilibrium as per Newton's third law. But this is not possible in the mentioned case.
