    A. The Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned with the Moon in the middle and the Earth furthest away from the Sun.

    Explanation:

A solar eclipse is said to occur when the view of the Sun is eclipsed by the presence of the moon in line of sight. This happens when the Earth, the Sun and the Moon are aligned in a straight line with moon in between the Sun and the Earth.

During total solar eclipse, the disc of the moon completely hides the disc of the Sun and only coronal ring is visible. In partial solar eclipse, part of the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
