The immediate nursing intervention should be Discontinuing the nitroglycerin (Nitro-Bid) infusion. Nitroglycerin is a group of drugs called nitrates. NItroglycerin dilates blood vessels making it easier for blood to flow through them and easier for the heart to pump. Nitro-Bid is used to prevent attacks of chest pain. The should therefore discontinue the administration of the drug since the systolic pressure lower than normal.
