If atp formation stops in the kidney it will form a kidney stone and attract more crystals that make it grow larger. It may form a blockage if it continues to stay in the kidney and not pass through in the urine. This causes a great deal of pain. There may be more than one crystal formation resulting in multiple kidney stones to pass. It is serious condition in a person that only has one kidney.
