An elementary student believes a running car is an example of a chemical reaction because smoke comes out of a car. Is the student correct or incorrect? Write an explanation that will either support or oppose the student's thinking.

    the student is incorrect.

    Explanation:

    a chemical reaction is defined as: changes in one or more substances caused by a reaction, that form new and different substances. Smoke coming out of a car would not really be classified as turning into a new substance, the smoke is still smoke.
