    The correct description for each of the phases of mitosis are as below:-

    Metaphase - The chromosomes get lined up in the middle of the cell.

    Anaphase - The chromosomes move to opposite ends of the cell.

    Prophase - Chromosomes become visible; spindle apparatus forms.

    Interphase - The genetic material is duplicated.

    Telophase-The cell plate and the nuclear envelope is formed.

    The M phase of the cell division is divided into two stages mitosis and cytokinesis. The mitosis has the following stages in order: prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. Interphase occurs at the first stage of cell cycle. Cytokinesis refers to the division of the cytoplasm and is different in both plants and animals.
