    Explanation: Histones are protein that arrange DNA into a structural unit that is called nucleosomes. They are located in the nucleus of eukaryotes, DNA wraps itself around histones for it to be packed.

    If a cell could not produce histone the DNA wouldn't be packed because its main function is to keep the DNA closely packed in the nucleus.

    Histones are also involved in gene regulation.
