Consider a protein that is made in the rough endoplasmic reticulum. You observe that when the synthesis of the protein is completed, the protein is located in the ER membrane. Where else in the cell might this protein be found?

    The Rugged Endoplasmic Reticulum (RER), also called granular endoplasmic reticulum, ergastoplasma or rough endoplasmic reticulum, is an organelle that is responsible for the synthesis and transport of secretion or membrane proteins. There are reticles only in eukaryotic cells.
