    (I'm sorry, I got stuck between a and b. This was the best answer I could come up with)

    Explanation:

    Capillaries are meant to be small so blood cells could move through them in a single file line. If they were an bigger the blood stream would clog up and most of the blood cells won't be able to give nutrients or exchange gas
