If b represents the allele for black eyes (dominant) and b represents the allele for orange eyes (recessive), what would be the genotypic ratio of a cross between a heterozygous black-eyed mendalien and an orange-eyed mendalien? if b represents the allele for black eyes (dominant) and b represents the allele for orange eyes (recessive), what would be the genotypic ratio of a cross between a heterozygous black-eyed mendalien and an orange-eyed mendalien? 1 homozygous black (bb) : 0 heterozygote (black) (bb) : 1 homozygous orange (bb) 1 homozygous black (bb) : 1 heterozygote (black) (bb) : 1 homozygous orange (bb) 0 homozygous black (bb) : 0 heterozygote (black) (bb) : 1 homozygous orange (bb) 0 homozygous black (bb) : 1 heterozygote (black) (bb) : 1 homozygous orange (bb) 2 homozygous black (bb) : 1 heterozygote (black) (bb) : 1 homozygous orange (bb)

For future, dominant genes are always written in the uppercase so that you don't end up with the confusion of your potential answers. Heterozygous means that they have one of each allele so the black-eyed parent has a dominant and a recessive allele: Bb Orange is recessive so the orange eyed parent only has orange alleles: bb If you do a Punnett square: Bb x bb, the possible offspring are: Bb, Bb, bb, bb (2 heterozygous black: 2 homozygous orange) So the ratio is simplified to 1 heterozygous black (Bb) : 1 homozygous orange (bb)
