How many chlorine atoms would be needed to bond with one calcium atom?

    This is more chemistry, than biology ... but its ok.

    If you look at the Periodic Table, Calcium has an ionic charge of 2 + and Chlorine has an ionic charge of - 1.

    Using the rule of cross multiplication when forming a compound, where you swap the charges and change the charges to atoms, you get CaCl2

    Therefore, 2 atoms of Chlorine would be needed to bond with one calcium atom.
