The correct answer is A. There is no need to find a mate.

The definition of asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction that a single organism can reproduce by itself. Therefore, the organism doesn't need to find a mate to reproduce.

The opposite of asexual reproduction would be sexual reproduction which requires a mate to reproduce.

The answer B. is incorrect. In sexual reproduction, a process called meiosis exchanges genetic info between two organisms of different gender, meaning that there is an increased "number" of diversity.

The answer C. is incorrect. In asexual reproduction, there are multiple forms of reproduction but the most common process is called binary fission in which the organism just splits itself into 2. In asexual reproduction, there isn't a process called meiosis, which involve the fusion of gametes.

The answer D. is incorrect. Generally, asexual reproduction requires less energy than sexual reproduction. I have no idea if our world has the technology to measure the amount of energy spent reproducing in an organism, however; the process of meiosis is a bit complex compared to binary fission or multiple fission. We can infer that asexual reproduction consumes less energy than sexual reproduction.
