Many organisms can reproduce asexually through mitosis, while other organisms reproduce sexually, and their cells carry out meiosis to form gametes. In a situation where an organism falls prey to many efficient predators, which of these processes would be most beneficial to a species?

    In the case of these organism, they would most likely benefit from asexual reproduction due to the fact that they themselves will reproduce therefore not having the need to finding a male or female counterpart to reproduce, that would be affected if the species was efficiently hunted.
