    Explanation:

    Olfactory nerves serves the function of smell. This nerve passes through the cribriform plate of ethmoid bone of skull. If an impact occurs to skull the nerve can be severed and can cause and impaired sense of smell with a leak of Cerebro-spinal Fluid from nasal pathway.
