A client reports she has lactose intolerance and questions the nurse about alternative sources of calcium. what options can be provided by the nurse?

    The nurse may suggest that the client eats calcium-fortified foods, such as soy products that include tofu, soy nuts or soy milk. Almonds and some beans, such as kidney beans, white beans, chickpeas and pinto beans are also a good source of calcium for people who are lactose intolerant.
