In our body, we have both the non specific and specific defenses. For the specific defenses, the immune system is responsible for it against agents which are called antigens which are the foreign or harmful microorganisms that would enter the body. Specific mechanisms are part of the immune system and consist of the humoral immune response and the cellular immune response that produce antibodies and defense cells against specific antigens, respectively. Based on this, we can say that the advantages of a specific defense is that, it will remember certain foreign or harmful microorganisms that would enter the body and would take appropriate action on it.
