    Nasal conchea

    Explanation:

The nasal conchae or turbinates regulate the air flow during inhalation. The bones expand increasing the surface area of the nasal cavity, allowing the air to come into better contact with the abundant capillaries of the nasal cavity thus being warmed by the blood flowing. They also slow down the laminar flow of air so the air spends longer time in the cavity in order to be dehumidified.
