Myocardial infarction or MI is also known as heart attack. This happens when the blood flow decreases due to blockage in the arteries causing ischemia in the heart secondary to poor oxygen. The symptoms include chest pain that can radiate to the shoulder, back, arm jaw and neck. This is one of the assessment finding the nurse should monitor.
