Discuss the steps in ecological succession, using appropriate terms and examples.

    Ecological succession can defined as the long term progression of the biological community that takes place in an area.

    It includes three steps:

    Primary succession: Primary succession can be defined as the area which was devoid of life and now organism colonize there. The first organism to grow there are mosses, algae, et cetera.

    Secondary Succession: Secondary succession can be defined as the area where established community is replaced by a different types of animals and plants.

    Intermediate stage: The stage which is continuously developing by the never ending growth of plants and animals there.

    Climax community: The final and stable community of plants and animal restricted in that area only.
