Answer: The correct answer to the question is option C

Explanation: Down syndrome is a genetic disorder, it is otherwise known as trisomy 21.

In down syndrome, the 21st number of chromosome has an extra copy which is an error.

Children with down syndrome undergoes delay in there physical and intellectual development.

This delay in developmental milestones makes them different from normal children.

Some of the babies and children with down syndrome always reach the early sensory and motor milestones at a later age/stage unlike normal children. some of these milestones are standing, rolling, sitting, walking and grasping.

This delay in developmental milestones is what will make a child of 12months to to eat with his hands which is unlike normal babies that attain such motor skills at an earlier age.

All other options do not show delay in developing milestones.

    c) "You can expect him to eat with his hands by age 12 months."

    Explanation:

Babies born with down syndrome usually have delays in development in some areas, as they tend to achieve milestones at later months, when compared with the normal milestones a healthy baby will attain.

The statement that describes the milestone expected in a child with down syndrome is "You can expect him to eat with his hands by age 12 months"

The other statements do not align with the milestone you would expect to see in a child born with down syndrome, as crawling, bladder training, and speaking in sentences should be expected to occur later than the months stated for each milestones in the above statements given in the question above.
