Answer: absense of apoptosis

The set of cells that had a thin layer, with individual cells are normal cells.

The set crowded with irregular cells are cancer cells.

Cancer cells are being produced in excess and can't stop dividing.

We could say that the process of apoptosis, the natural way a cell dies, is not happening and they continue to creat more copies of themselves.
