Is his diagram correct, and if not, how could he fix it?

Yes, he should leave it as is because one atom of He plus energy results in two atoms of H and heat and pressure.

    The reaction stated here is a very common reaction which was proposed to be happening in many helium stars and even in sun. The process suggested that in extremes of pressure and temperature, helium can undergo a fission reaction to produce two atoms of hydrogen and a huge amount of energy. The energy is produced from the mass of the neutrons that are converted into energy according to Einstein's popular relation E=mc².

    But this reaction doesn't actually takes place because the reaction uses up a much more amount of energy to take place than what it do produce. So its energy consuming. So it doesn't happen in stars.
