Explanation:
In the oxidation reaction occurs the loss of electrons, that is, the loss of H + occurs; whereas the reduction reaction consists in gaining electrons, that is, H + gain.
Oxidation can occur under three circumstances: when oxygen is added to the substance, when a substance loses hydrogen or when the substance loses electrons. Reduction, in turn, is the reverse, and it also occurs in three ways: when a substance loses oxygen, when it gains hydrogen, or when it gains electrons.
