State why are parthenogenesis is considered a form of asexual reproduction.

    Whiptail lizards, an all female population of lizards. are en example of animals who reproduce through parthenogenesis. Because these females reproduce without fertilization and develop a new individual without the sperm of a male, there is no genetic variation as she is simply grows and develops an embryo herself.
