    The equation for cellular respiration is C6H12O6 + 6 O2 → 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + Energy

And to describe cellular respiration C6H12O6 is oxidized and O2 is reduced.

Balanced chemical reaction of cellular respiration:

    C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂ → 6CO₂ + 6H₂O + energy.

This reaction represent cellular respiration where organic matter is transformed into carbon dioxide and energy is released.

Glucose and oxygen are reactants and carbon dioxide, water and energy are products of this chemical reaction; cellular respiration creates an energy molecule when glucose is broken down.
