An energy pyramid shows the use of energy that comes from the sun and where it goes throughout nature. It starts at the sun, moves to the producers (plants) then herbivores (consumers who eat plants) then more consumers, those who eat the herbivores until you reach decomposes, like mushrooms and fungi. Decomposers get energy from the top tiered consumers and decompose it.
