How does homophony differ from independent polyphony? how does independent polyphony differ from heterophony?

    Independent polyphony contains more than two lines of independent melody unlike Homophony where one melody which can be a voice or instrument is dominant and played by chords, meaning more than two note are played at once.

    And Heterophony is the kind of texture categorized by the simultaneous variation of one single line of melody.
