    There are three different types of solution:

    Hypertonic solution:

    A solution that has more solutes that the cell. As a result more water exits a cell causing the cell to shrink.

    Isotonic solution

    A solution is said to be isotonic to a cell if it has the same concentration of solutes as the cell means equal amount of water are entering and leaving the cell so the cell size would remain constant

    Hypotonic:

    A solution that has fewer solutes that the cell. As a result more water enters a cell causing the cell to swell or even burst
