    This is derived using the Hardy Weinburg principle of allelic frequency at equilibrium.

    p + q = 1

    Therefore if q = 0.26; then 1 - 0.26 = 0.74

    In most occasions, the allele with the higher frequency is usually the dominant one (but not always).
