    This is the Pituitary Gland which controls other glands such as the adrenal gland as well as secretes its own set of hormones is closest to the sphenoid bone. There are two lobes, anterior and posterior. The spheroid bone surface is immediately below the pituitary gland posterior. The posterior of the pituitary gland will release ADH or anti-diuretic hormone as well as oxytocin (assuming a female).
