Open system - both matter and energy can transfer

closed system - only energy can transfer

isolated system - neither energy nor matter can transfer

    Explanation:

    1. Open system

An open system is the one in which both energy and matter is exchanged as the substance in this system is free to move. For example - Heating water in a can without lid. Here both the energy (heat) and matter (water) is allowed to escape.

    2. Closed System

In this system, only energy transfer is possible and exchange of matter is restricted through some external constraint.

For example - when water is heated in a container with a closed lid. Here heat (energy) can escape but water (matter) cannot escape

    2. Isolated System

In this system, transfer of both energy and matter is restricted by isolating the system

For example - if water is poured into an insulated container, both heat (energy) and water (matter) are restricted from heating

They can exchange both matter and energy, exchange energy but not matter, Isolated systems can exchange neither energy nor matter.

In a closed system only energy can be exchanged; matter stays inside.

In a open system matter and energy can be exchanged
