    Answer

A brick red precipitate of copper (1) oxide is formed

    Explanation

Glucose in this case is a reducing sugar, when mixed with benedict solution, the blue copper (11) ions in the benedict solution is reduced to form copper (1) oxide which forms a red precipitate. The color obtained in this experiment indicates the amount of sugar (glucose) in the solution. When in low amounts greenish precipitate is obtained. In higher amounts, a red precipitate is formed. Yellow and Orange colors indicate an intermediate concentration of glucose.
