is mitochondria in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells?

    Mitochondria is found in Eukaryotic cells. A prokaryote is a cell that does not have membrane-bound building inside them which are called organelles. A mitochondrion is an organelle, and since prokaryotes do not have organelles, they can't have mitochondria.
