While traveling out of state, Joan was injured after a fall down six concrete steps. She went to the emergency room at the local hospital and received 13 sutures in her left thigh. Joan now presents to her PCP, who will remove the sutures. After exam of the area, which was without infection, redness, or oozing, the stitches were successfully removed.
