Glial cells are found in the central nervous system. They are non-neuronal cells, also referred as Neuroglia or supporting cells. As their name says, one of the functions of the glial cells s to physically support neurons and to insulate them. Some other function are: to supply neurons with nutrients and oxygen and t o destroy pathogens and remove dead neurons.
