The Church is a type of heaven

    Explanation:

Church is much more than a good sermon, a few good songs, and good company. It is, or it is supposed to be, a cooperation between heaven and earth, a living synergy. What saddens me though is that we worship with verve, we pour everything into it, and yet too often the person at the end of the row remains a stranger to us. I'm not sure you can have one without the other. If we do not surrender ourselves completely, and not just to the familiar but to the unloved, fallen, and damaged life around us, our worship is empty, sapless, and misdirected. There is room for improvement in all of us. Myself included.
