    ATP production decreases.

    Explanation:

DNP (dinitrophenyl) acts as an uncoupling agent. This drug causes the opening of hydrogen ion channels in the inner mitochondrial membrane or in the brown fat and acts as a weight loss drug.

If the patient is treated with DNP, the proton gradient that are formed during electron transport chain is not able to bind with ATP synthesis. The oxidation of the glucose molecules results in the decrease in the ATP synthesis due to the prevent of flow of hydrogen ions back in the ATP synthase.
