    Independent variable.

It is the factor that the scientist can change to obtain

    Different results

    Example:

In Galileo's experiment on the free fall of bodies,

Galileo was throwing a stone from a certain height and half the

time it took to drop an object.

In this case the dependent variable is the height from where

launched, since Galileo decided from what height he could throw the

    object.

    - Dependent variables.

This variable depends on the independent variable and its values

will vary according to how the scientist changes the variables

    independent.

Returning to the example of Galileo's experiment, the variable

Time is dependent, since Galileo could not decide how long the object was going to take. The time it took for the object to take

reaching the ground depended on the height at which he threw himself.

The objective of the experiment in general is to observe how the

dependent variable is provided as we change the variable

    Independent.

    - Control variables

The control variables are the ones that remain constant every

Once we performed the experiment. These variables we cannot

control, and will not change when we move the

    independent variables.

In the case of Galileo's experiments, some variables of

control can be the temperature of the day when the

experiment or wind speed. Galileo could not control the

temperature or wind speed. And when he threw his

objects these variables did not change.

They are called variables because they change per day and almost never

    They are equal.

These are sometimes variable if they affect the measurements made.

That's why it's important to report them when the experiment is done.
